Jacksmith Battle Guide: Which Warrior Gets the Good Ore, and How to Catch Every Drop

Published · 1 min read

Orders come in a pile, so forge in the right order

Every warrior in the caravan files an order before a stop, and you can fill them in any sequence. Start with the warriors who deal the most damage, because they get your best ore, and finish with the ones whose weapons matter least. If you run out of a metal halfway through, the important weapons are already made.

The ore budget

Rare ore is the thing that runs out. Spread it: one excellent weapon does not carry a battle, but a whole caravan of decent ones does. When you have only a little of the ore the enemy is weak to, give it to the warrior who attacks most often and forge the rest from something plain but well made.

Loot fades, so sweep, do not chase

During the battle the enemies drop coins, gems and lumps of ore where they fall, and each drop sits for a few seconds before it disappears. Chasing single drops across the screen loses the ones behind you. Keep the cursor over the front line and sweep left and right across the drop zone; you will catch more by moving through the cluster than by aiming at pieces one at a time.

Why the loot matters more than the coins

Coins buy upgrades between stops, but the ore you click is what you forge with next. A stingy battle leaves you pouring copper for a warrior who deserves better, so a fast clicking hand in one fight is what makes the weapons in the next fight good.

Between stops

Spend on the forge before spending on anything cosmetic. Upgrades that widen the pour tolerance or slow the hammer marks make every future weapon better, which compounds across the campaign.
